At Risk Youth / Teen Addicts Coping Strategies & Life Skills Training
There are a number of pressures on our youth today – possibly more than when we were young. Researchers have determined that the percent of teenage substance abusers has grown and will continue to increase over time.
In a blink of an eye a responsible, happy, and motivated young adult can turn into a rebellious, withdrawn, and sullen addict. It may start with simple experimentation but can quickly lead to a daily, uncontrollable habit. Many children turn to drugs and alcohol to conceal or deny other problems such as low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety. “THERE IS HOPE”
Coach Nakumbe works closely with you and/or child to discuss his/her drinking and other risky behaviors. Because of our unique style and ability to “keep it real”, we are able to quickly connect with your teen to develop a trusting and mutually respectful relationship. Although we are NOT a substance abuse program such as AA, we are committed to assist your child through his/her road to recovery. We work with him/her and you as parents to create a plan that all will support and be held accountable for.
Coach Nakumbe provides individuals who are in treatment such as outpatient treatment or participate in AA or other rehabilitation facilities with added support.
